I am now starting to gain an understanding of the Internet as a bigger connection of computers and networks that allows the web i.e. website and social media to be accessed through the Web Browsers such as Safari. Web Browsers contain Search Engines such as Yahoo and Google which allow you to search the internet. Web Pages are made up of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) that form the pages coding which is located by the Search Engines through URLs (Uniform Resource Locator). http:// (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) is the technology that allows you to send the information.
I am beginning to develop an understanding of HTML and how to use it:

I am beginning to develop an understanding of HTML and how to use it:
- <!doctype html> this informs the Browser that the page is coded in HTML.
- <html> tag is the container for all other HTML Elements </html>
- Elements have a start tag and an head tag with an Attribute (more information that sits inside the opening tag) Content (the visible bit) in-between. <tag attribute>content</tag>
- <p> ********** </p> This is the Paragraph Tag that tells the Browser where and what Element is on a the page.
- <h1> **** </h1> <h2> ***** </h2> <h6 ******* </h6> These are the Headings tags h1 (most important)- h2 (least).
- Angkor Element (clickable) in the form of Hyperlinks <a href="http://decoded.co">Decoded</a>. So the 'href' part is the attribute that tells you more about the hyperlink, the " * " is the actual hyperlink the URL, The 'Decoded' part is the content and the bit you would see in the page itself.
- Title Attribute that describes to help search engines build up a picture of the web <a href="http://decoded.co" title="Digital Enlightenment">Decoded</a>
- Image Element doesn't have a closing tag <img src="/img/beach.jpg" alt="Sunny beach"> where to find the image, <img src="/img/beach.jpg" alt="Sunny beach"> alliterative text for the browser when image does't load or for a blind person using a screen reader (software application that attempts to identify and interpret what is being displayed on the screen) making your page accessible!!!
Structure of a HTML page:
- <head> </head> this is the part of the page you can't see with Meta (about itself) information. Include a title for the search engines and the CSS (style of the page-athstestics) Elements.
- <body> </body> this is the part of the page that will be visible, the content e.g. <p> & <h2> <img>.
